This is one that you should run out and support TODAY! I laughed and cried and then laughed and cried. It was amazing! You owe it to yourself to support this film. Are you sold yet?
You see with films I have a ten minute rule. I will watch any film for ten minutes and if I am not hooked at ten minutes I know that it is time to turn it off. Saving Face did an excellent job of passing the ten minute test. This film was amazing at showing a healthy lesbian couple dealing with the desire to be together, and the cultural confrontations they faced in their search for happiness. It was wonderful!
I was hooked within the first minute and I know that you will be too. You go Alice Wu, Michelle Krusiec, Lynn Chen,Joan Chen, Producers Destination Films, Forensic Films, Greene Street Films, and last but far far from least Overbrook Entertainment. Here is the trailer. Take a look:
This movie was released in 2005 ,but this is definitely a classic. Let’s call it “Classic Nouveau”! This is the type of diverse media that we need more of. Great story. Really great! So I have to say that there is only one part that I had a little hmmm moment with. I only bring it up to make all of us aware of some of the little idiosyncracies that we have as a society of wonderful humans that may not be productive.
There is a kitchen scene with Wil her Mom and her neighbor. I am not going to tell you about it I am going to ask you to rent Saving Face or buy the DVD and tell us your thoughts. Great film. Watch it and check back and let us all know what you loved about the film. Diversity in media doesn’t it feel great!
Peace,
Troy
